“EXQUISITE” Turks and Caicos Launched to Assist Local Tourism Businesses

PROVIDENCIALES, TURKS AND CAICOS ISLANDS (February 27th, 2024) Experience Turks and Caicos launched “Exquisite Turks and Caicos” in South Caicos, at the Invest Turks and Caicos MSME Roadshow held at the South Caicos Community Centre on Monday, February 27th , 2024.

Exquisite Turks and Caicos is an immersive tourism program conceptualised by the Strategic Development Unit of Experience Turks and Caicos, to assist local businesses in creating niche product offerings and services to create opportunities for Turks and Caicos Islanders to enhance their businesses and add value to the overall visitor experience. Immersive businesses include land-based heritage and water-based tours, attraction sites, culinary experiences, and local arts and craft. This program supports the Three Pillars Experience Turks and Caicos was established on, Inclusive Growth, Sustainability and Competitiveness.

Experience Turks and Caicos partnered with Invest Turks and Caicos to launch the program at the company’s MSME Roadshow entitled “Advancing Together: Building Stronger MSMEs Across the TCI”. This annual event provides a platform for MSMEs from diverse sectors to converge to share experiences, challenges, and success stories, fostering a thriving business community.

Minister of Tourism, the Honourable Josephine Connolly, urged entrepreneurs and business owners to get involved in the program.

“Immersive tourism is becoming very popular as travelers look for a more enriched and memorable travel experience. By enhancing our products to create such experiences, we are creating avenues for increased spend and visitation, which ultimately works to the benefit of all in the tourism sector. I applaud Experience Turks and Caicos for this initiative and I look forward to seeing the creative and innovative initiatives that will come out of this,” the Minister said, “Mr. Courtney Robinson, Strategic Development Manager, the face of the “Exquisite Turks and Caicos” program, stated: “Immersive Tourism is about creating compelling and interactive visitor experiences through strategic partnerships with local vendors. It goes beyond traditional sightseeing and offers travellers a deeper connection to the destination’s culture, history, and environment. “Exquisite Turks and Caicos” is our commitment that extends beyond the sunshine smiles, picturesque landscapes and pristine sandy beaches; it is a promise to curate experiences that create memories, that resonate with the soul of every traveller,” Mr. Robinson said.

Interested persons must submit a Tourism Vendor Service Provider Registration Form.

Qualified vendors for the “Exquisite Turks and Caicos” Program will be awarded up to $5,000 in technical support, business support services, and marketing including brand creation, education and training.

  2. February 29th Venue: Life Training Centre, Grand Turk Time: 5 pm
  3. March 4th Venue: Community Centre, Middle Caicos Time: 5.30 pm
  4. March 5th Venue: Horsestable Beach, North Caicos Time: 5 pm
  5. March 14th Venue: Gustavus Lightbourne Sports Complex, Providenciales Time: 5 pm

Guyana’s financial support for Palestine

#Palestine#Guyana, April 24, 2024 – A cheque of over GY$110 million which is USD$500 thousand, was presented to President Irfaan Ali, at a handover ceremony on April 23, in support of Palestine for Humanitarian efforts, according to reports.

The money, raised by Muslims and non Muslims, comes after an appeal by the National Ramadan Village during the month of Ramadan.

It will be sent to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine refugees (UNRWA) to help the victims of the ongoing war.

Royal Caribbean Cancels Haiti Trips

#Haiti#RoyalCaribbean, April 26, 2024- Royal Caribbean has decided to cancel all of its trips to Labadee, a popular destination in Haiti due to the worsening crisis, putting further strain on the country’s tourism sector. Cancellations were initially set to last until mid March but now they have been extended through the summer into September, according to a post by Royal Caribbean. A spokesperson for the organization is reported saying the Global Security and Intel team is monitoring the situation in Haiti, further expressing that the cancellations come as the safety and security of its guests are top priority.

Haiti Transitional Council Sworn in- Henry Officially Resigns

He publicly announced his resignation in a post on Facebook. This follows Henry’s promise last month to exit office after gang members blocked his return to Haiti from Kenya.
