TurksandCaicosIslands, February 12, 2024 – A historic case will go to trial, Cydireo Smith, who is charged with being part of the Kew Town Gang and for shooting off a gun in the underground parking lot of Regent Village will face trial.
CCTV footage reportedly helped police identify Smith; an impressive presentation of evidence remarked the Chief Justice Mabel Agyemang who disagreed with Smith’s attorney Lara Maroof-Misick that the identification process was flawed.
Wilkie Arthur, court correspondent, informs that a plea and directions hearing is set for February 22nd.
Cydireo Smith is the first to be tried on new legislation, which makes gang affiliation a serious offense.
