Trinidad and Tobago’s first prime minister, Basdeo Panday has died

#TrinidadandTobago, January 3, 2023 –  Trinidad and Tobago’s first prime minister of Indian descent, Basdeo Panday, has died at the age of 90. He passed away on Monday, and according to his daughter, he was surrounded by family. Mickela Panday said, “He passed with his boots on, keeping everybody around him on their toes with his wit and humor.” Reports inform us that flags will be flown at half mast in recognition of Panday’s passing. Panday served Trinidad and Tobago from 1995 to 2001 and was revered for co-founding three political parties.
