Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands, November 1, 2023 – The Turks and Caicos Islands Government proudly announces the appointment of Ms. Zaria Ingham, a returning student and former Junior Minister of Tourism and Youth Parliamentarian, to the post of Communications Coordinator within the Communications Directorate within the Office of the Premier and Public Policy.
Ms. Ingham earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Arts with a concentration in Organizational Communications from Florida International University in July 2023. Her commitment to academic excellence is evident through her Summa Cum Laude distinction.
Prior to this, in November 2020, she graduated with Honors from the Turks and Caicos Islands Community College, earning an Associate’s Degree in Business Studies.
Ms. Ingham’s professional journey into the field of communication and marketing is fortified by a series of experiences. In August 2023, she worked as a Freelance Graphic Designer and Social Media Manager for Outside the Box Advertising, contributing her skills to create and edit graphics for government agencies and private entities. Ms. Ingham also completed a Social Media Marketing Internship with Mochee Inc. from May 2023 to August 2023. There she engaged in various responsibilities, including copywriting, developing social media strategies, extensive trend research, administrative duties, and reporting. She also spent a year with the Caribbean Missions Society serving as a Social Media Marketing Team Member, creating customized graphic materials for social platforms to promote the Caribbean Missions Society’s events.
Ms. Ingham’s commitment to her community and her advocacy for youth involvement and leadership is demonstrated through various roles she previously held. They include:
- Former Junior Minister of Tourism for the Turks and Caicos Islands (2016-2017)
- Minister of Tourism, Culture, Heritage, and Maritime Affairs for the Turks & Caicos Islands National Youth Parliament (2019 – 2021)
- Member of the Turks and Caicos Islands National Youth Council (2019 – 2022)
- Former Female CARICOM Youth Ambassador for the Turks and Caicos Islands (2020-2022)
Additionally, Ms. Ingham has created and actively maintains an advocacy platform focusing on areas including Empowerment (women, youth, and disabled), Culture, Climate Change, and Health.
Sharing her thoughts on her new role, Ms. Ingham said:
“I am deeply honored and excited to be appointed the position of Communications Coordinator for the Office of the Premier and Public Policy. Effective communication is the backbone of any successful organization; therefore, I view this role as a great opportunity to work alongside an expert team comprising their Communications Directorate. I anticipate that this job will refine my skillset and provide me with increased experience in crafting and conveying key messages to various stakeholders. I look forward to the experiences ahead and I am dedicated to upholding the highest standards of professionalism and excellence in this role. In working with my team and other agencies, I hope to continue to strengthen the Turks and Caicos Islands’ reputation and reach into regional and international spaces through the scope of Communications.”
