#Kenya, November 11, 2023 – Four teams have taken up the 2023 Kenya Defence Force Fitness Challenge which the KDF said saw the convergence of various personnel to test their fitness levels.

The event, aims to encourage “physical fitness, good espirit de corps and to improve on good relationship amongst personnel,” said KDF officials.

Eyes are on Kenya as hope hangs on their entry into Haiti to stabilize the nation as a breakthrough for the impoverished nation, beleaguered by political unrest and gang uprisings.

Today, Kenya announced that the mission will not happen unless it is fully funded by the United Nations.  Media reports expose remarks by Kenyan Interior Minister Kithure Kindiki, who said the overall budget for the one-year deployment aimed at restoring calm in the gang-plagued Caribbean nation is estimated at $600 million, pending a final review.

“The resources for this mission will be arranged or mobilised among the member states of the United Nations,” Kindiki told a parliamentary committee.

At home, speaking at the KDF Fitness Challenge, MAB sports Commanding Officer, Lieutenant Colonel Joseph Kahindi urged everyone to continue improving on their fitness, noting that it is a key aspect of their lives.

“I’m really impressed with today’s activity. This should not be the end of this challenge. I am happy to see an improvement in the turn out compared to last year’s event.”

Present at the event in Kenya were, Brigadier Aloka Apollo, Senior Officers, Officers and Service members.
