#TurksandCaicos, September 11, 2023 – An alleged drug bust in Grace Bay, Providenciales in mid-August resulted in EUGENE GARDINER aka EJ, who is 24-years-old being held and charged with drug offences.

Court information disclosed that on Thursday 16th August, 2023, while at Salt Mills Plaza Police allegedly busted GARDINER with two different types of drugs. He was subsequently charged with possession of a number of pills and possession of a quantity weed.

The quantity and preparation of both drugs was over the amount considered for personal possession and Gardiner was therefore also charged with intent to distribute pills and weed.

The Bight resident was granted police bail and released from the Grace Bay Station for his attendance in court on Monday 21st August, 2023. At his arraignment on August 21st, Gardiner entered a not guilty plea to all four counts and was granted court bail in the sum of $5,000.00.

His matter was then adjourned to a date in early October 2023.

The Hon Chief Magistrate advised the defendant of his right to apply for legal aid as he was unrepresented at the initial proceeding.  The matter has now been transferred to the court of Hon. Resident Magistrate Mrs. Oreika Selver-Gardiner.
