Haiti US Embassy Service Suspended

#Haiti, September 9, 2023 – The US Embassy in Haiti in an email sent to the affected individuals said that consular service is suspended due to staff reductions; this is reported by Haiti 24.

As a result, the Embassy has without much of a choice, reschedule all appointments already made and Applicants waiting for their immigrant and non-immigrant visas were advised to collect their passports at the DHL office.

The Embassy, located in Tabarre, like the rest of the country, has been affected by th3 worsening crime activity. In fact, on August 8th, it resorted to confining the staff to the compound due to automatic weapon fire that rang out in the area.

A time frame for the suspension has not yet been revealed, if any. Magnetic Media will follow up as the situation develops.
