#TurksandCaicos, July 17, 2023 – The Turks and Caicos has recorded its second traffic death this year according to the police; it happened on Thursday July 13.
Magnetic Media received photos of a badly damaged vehicle flipped over on the roadway on Millennium Highway, Blue Hills, Providenciales.
Police and other emergency personnel were called to the scene near Chicken Shack around 1:14 am. They say on arrival they saw the overturned and crushed vehicle along with another damaged SUV. The occupants of the SUV were alive and rushed to hospital. The occupant of the car, a young man, was pronounced dead on the spot.
Police did not release any indication of what might have caused the deadly accident but we are told the Traffic Enforcement Unit is continuing investigations.
Acting Commissioner of Police Rodney Adams extended his condolences and said: “It is very unfortunate that once again, the TCI has lost a life on our roadways. The responsibility of safe driving is a serious issue that cannot be ignored. As a result, we continue to urge the public to be vigilant, responsible, and law-abiding when using the roadways. We also ask that motorists use their seatbelts.”

No identity on the man killed in the accident has been released by authorities as yet.
