#TurksandCaicos, June 12, 2023 – At 11:56 pm yesterday (June 11th ), officers from the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force responded to reports of gunshots being heard at a location in The Bight, Providenciales. When officers arrived at the location, they were shown a parked, white vehicle. Upon closer inspection, they observed a male in the driver’s seat of the vehicle, slouching over to the passenger side of the vehicle with what appeared to be gunshot wounds about the body.
The Forensics team arrived, processed the scene and evidence was collected.
The deceased has been identified as 22-year-old hospitality employee Erod Chaute of Five Cays.
Detectives of the Serious Crime Unit are continuing investigations.
