Grand Turk Man to Stand Trial, Gun Charges

#TurksandCaicos, June 12, 2023 – OMARION GARDINER was on Friday June 2, 2023 committed to stand trial in the Supreme Court having been charged with keeping a firearm and ammunition in his mother’s home, on the Island of Grand Turk in early April, 2023.

He is represented by Lara Maroof Misick who did not appear at his sufficiency hearing.  She had conflicting matters, both at the Grand Turk Supreme Court.

Despite the absence of counsel, Her Ladyship Hon Chief Justice Ms. Mabel Agyemang proceeded with the sufficiency hearing and committed Gardiner to stand trial.

The matter was then adjourned to a plea and directions hearing (PDH) set for June 23, 2023.

Omarion Gardner is currently on remand at the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.
