#TurksandCaicos, April 3, 2023 – The Government has officially identified and awarded the companies that will complete some of this administration’s largest projects including the promised fiber optic cables.

The Cabinet meeting minutes from March 22nd, and 29th, reveal that the Government has awarded contracts for the consultants for the new Domestic Submarine Cable Business case.  The country also now has consultants for the operationalization of the promised National Credit Union.

It means these deliverables, which are aimed at improving two of the country’s most pressing issues, connectivity and access to finance, are now in progress after years of agitation and promises.

In addition to that, the Turks and Caicos Airport Authority will have their Voice Control Communication System upgraded.  A suite of new vehicles is also on the table, departments to benefit include the Digitization E-Government Technology and Innovation (DETI) department; the NIB; and Invest Turks and Caicos Agency.
