#TurksandCaicos, April 27, 2023 – The Office of the Deputy Governor of the Turks and Caicos Islands is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Lerano Missick to the post of Senior Project Officer in the Department of Correction and Rehabilitation (Her Majesty’s Prison) within the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Mr. Missick completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Leadership with a concentration in Project Management from Arizona State University in December 2022. He also holds a Certificate in Computer Applications and Drafting Technology from the Turks and Caicos Islands Community College.
He began his career with the Turks and Caicos Islands Government (TCIG) in 2012 at Her Majesty’s Prison as a Basic Grade Officer; now the Department of Correction and Rehabilitation (DCR). In 2017, Mr. Missick was promoted to the post of Senior Prison Officer and from 2021 to this most recent appointment acted in the role of Project Maintenance Manager.
Mr. Missick also benefited from the knowledge obtained in an Intensive Development Programme with the National Offenders Management Service in the United Kingdom. This programme serves middle managers who possess the ability to serve as a Supervisor of Prisons in 3 to 5 years after the completion of the program.
Mr. Missick, in commenting on his appointment, stated:

I must also pay special gratitude to the Acting Governor Her Excellency Anya Williams, the Turks and Caicos Islands Government, the Department to Correction and Rehabilitation, and my family and friends for their continued support.
I will fill this post with pride and honor, giving back to the TCIG and the DCR to the best of my ability.”
Acting Governor and Head of the Public Service, Her Excellency Anya Williams, in extending congratulatory remarks to Mr. Missick, stated:
It gives me great pleasure to officially announce and to congratulate Mr. Lerano Missick on his appointment to the post of Senior Project Officer in the Department of Correction and Rehabilitation (Her Majesty’s Prison) within the Ministry of Home Affairs.
This is Mr. Missick’s second official promotion since joining the public service. In this new role, he will help TCIG continue on this successful path and ensure priority projects for DCR are completed in an efficient manner and within budgets allocated. Mr. Missick, over the years, has shown his commitment through training and service excellence to one day become a leader at the Department of Correction and Rehabilitations.
We wish him well in his new role where he has the support of the entire TCIG to continue to excel. We expect great things from him.
