#TurksandCaicos, April 17, 2023 – The government has begun the process of staffing the Destination Management and Marketing Organization (DMMO) which will replace the Tourist Board from the ground up with a suite of new positions open for the taking.

Contrary to previous promises all previous members of the Tourist Board will have to apply against other applicants for these jobs according to the government, though notably absent from the list was the CEO position.

The government says it is “committed to equality of opportunity and diversity in the employment process” reiterating it on each application poster.

Up for grabs are ten different positions at the top of the organization and mid-level.

An offer of $120 thousand dollars as the yearly take home pay for the position of Chief Financial Officer while the Chief Marketing Officer is being offered up to $100,000 per year.

A Marketing and Sales Unit Manager position is open, which the government will pay up to $75,000 thousand dollars a year to fill.  Also with a $75,000 annual salary is a Head of the Press and Communication Unit; a Director of the Tourism Intelligence Unit and Senior Product Development Expert.

Business Support Services Training Manager and  Development and Production Unit manager positions too are open for up to $75,000 per year.

Additionally, a Digital Marketing Specialist position is open, for $60,000 per year.  Finally an internal accountant will see $54,000 per year.

The decision was met with immediate pushback from the PDM; the party has condemned the formation of the Destination Management and Marketing Organization as indefensible.

The PNP Administration has defended the switch as necessary.

It comes as the country languishes in an employment crisis and the June deadline for the Tourist Board to be dissolved fast approaches.
