#Dominica, February 9, 2023 – With construction expected to begin in April of this year, negotiations with the developers of Dominica’s Geothermal plant have started.  Minister of Dominica’s Planning, Economic Development, Climate Resilience, Sustainable Development, and Renewable Energy, Dr. Vance Henderson, said he hopes the discussions will end by the time the ongoing drilling process in Roseau Valley has ended so that construction can commence.

Henderson said the plant is a significant investment as it is predicted to supply energy to 23,000 households.

With funding from Dominica’s Citizenship by Investment (CBI) programme, the Dominica Geothermal Development Company Ltd. predicted that construction should take up to 18 months.
