Five Cays Man Wanted, Police report on Shoot Out

#TurksandCaicos, February 15, 2023 – A 27-year-old is now being hunted by police in relation to a Firearm incident in Five Cays seemingly connected to reports of a shooting by police in Five Cays Monday afternoon.
The wanted man is TC Islander, McAllen Washington Gardiner also called Kanks. Born in Grand Turk and of a stocky build, Gardiner is urged to surrender at the nearest police station. The police released the wanted poster Monday night along with a statement indicating that they were doing routine patrols in Five Cays around 12 pm that day when they approached Reece Street and saw a parked car.
When they tried to approach a man ran from a nearby house, grabbed something from the car and pointed it at the police. In response, the police shot at him, and no one was injured but the man managed to escape from the police officers on the scene. They did not specifically say it was Gardiner but maintained they knew who the suspect was.
