#TurksandCaicos, December 20, 2022 – Several families in the Turks and Caicos Islands will find themselves with a little extra for Christmas thanks to Graceway Communities, the philanthropic arm of Graceway Supermarkets. The grocery company carried out its annual event at Rock of Jesus Ministries in Five Cays where food packages were provided for families using the various churches of the Turk and Caicos.

Graceway partnered with the Turks and Caicos Christian Council to reach the needy in the community.  President of the Council, Rev Wilbert Jennings was extremely thankful to the company.

“Quite a number of families are going to be extremely blessed this coming Christmas,” he continued.  “We are very grateful for this opportunity that so many people are going to have. So many people would have gone without but because of this a number of families in the Spanish community, the Haitian community and the English community are going to be able to have a Christmas where something is on the table and IGA has made that possible.”

Photos of the event show the hardworking volunteers packing up flour, rice, vienna sausages, chicken and other non-perishable goods in preparation for the many families to be blessed by the initiative.

“So far over nine hundred packages have been distributed across the Turks and Caicos Islands in collaboration with the Turks and Caicos Islands Christian Council in Providenciales and other churches throughout,” said Latoya Walkin, Public Relations executive with the company, who also explained, “We are excited to be able to take on this major undertaking this year and on behalf of Graceway Communities, our charitable arm, we would like to thank the TCI Christian Council; Bible Study Ministries in Grand Turk and North and Middle Caicos representative, Pastor Evan Williams from the Baptist Association, based in Middle Caicos.”
