#TurksandCaicos, August 4, 2022 – The Turks and Caicos has won big in two of the Caribbean’s premier “Best of” lists.

Firstly the Islands topped the Caribbean Journal Best Islands in the Caribbean to Visit in 2022 list with Providenciales coming in at number one.  Described as the ‘luxury get away with it all’ editors raved about the offerings on the island.

“It’s always been one of the most luxurious getaways in the Caribbean; now, travelers are discovering just how complete a destination Provo is, from the magnificent resorts on Grace Bay to the hip, sought-after sands of Long Bay; from marvelous local eateries like Da Conch Shack to gourmet food trucks like Cocovan; from world-class snorkeling to the best Caribbean golf course you’ve never heard of: the Provo Golf Club. Plainly, Providenciales has it all.”

Middle Caicos came in at number 9 with praises for its “stunning natural environment, from caves and caverns to breathtaking beaches”.  Also to make the list of 22 were Great Exuma, The Bahamas; Nassauin The Bahamas;  Jamaica and Bimini, also in The Bahamas.

Additionally Caribbean Journal has unveiled its yearly list of the 50 best Caribbean restaurants and one TCI restaurant has made the list.  Parallel 23 located at the Palms Resort managed to snag the number 22 spot on the list this year coming in with other heavy hitters like Chop House in Nassau and Scotchies in Jamaica.

Described as a romantic, beautiful eatery with an inspired continental menu and an even better wine list it was the only Turks and Caicos restaurant on the list.

Unlike the USA Today Best 10 list which listed another Turks and Caicos Island Restaurant, Sui Ren, the Caribbean Journal Best 50 Restaurants List is not curated by popular vote.  Rather it is curated by food experts with specific reference to three pillars: Food, Service and Ambiance.

In its 10th year the Caribbean Journal list is the most thorough of its kind in the region, explains editors.
