Coral Harbour Base, 28 November, 2019 – Bahamas – Kudos goes out to the Officers and Marines of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force for a great showing at The Roadmasters 7th Annual Bahamas (Bahamas Half) Marathon race on Saturday November 23rd, 2019.
The
RBDF had a total of 2 relay teams in the competition. The team (RBDF Commandos)
of Marine Seaman Wellington Ramsey and Marvin Minns placed 1st
overall with a total finish time of one hour thirty one minutes and nine
seconds (1:31:09) followed by team (RBDF) consisting of Leading Seaman Quincy
King, Able Seaman James Carey and Marine Seaman Stefon Brown placing 2nd
Overall with a total finish time of one hour fifty minutes and fifty two
seconds (1:50:52).
Lieutenant
Commander Derrick Ferguson was the other Defence Force participant who
completed the half marathon.
The race commenced from Arawak Cay onto West Bay Street to the Sun Fun Beach Resort and back to Arawak Cay. The runners ran a total of 6.2 miles and the walkers covered a distance of 3.1 miles.
