TCI: 13 Shelters ready in the ‘Caicos’ Islands

#Providenciales, August 1, 2019 – Turks and Caicos – There are 13 shelters listed as ready in the Caicos Islands of the TCI archipelago and recently, the Minister with responsibility for the Department of Disaster Management and Emergencies, Ralph Higgs toured two sites.  

“I am pleased to have officially conducted two shelter tours, it is important for us to take account of the state of readiness of our shelters in our islands, which is important, particularly among persons that are most vulnerable to the impact of natural disasters.”  

Shelters for Providenciales are: 

• All Saints Mission Church;
• Wesley Methodist High School;
• Jericho Baptist Church;
• Our Lady of Divine Providence Catholic Church;
• Enid Capron Primary School;
• Maranatha High School;
• Kingdom Dominion Ministry International. 

Shelters for North Caicos are:  

• Kew Community Centre;
• Sandy Point Community Centre;
• Adelaide Oembler Primary School;
• Lighthouse Church (Bottle Creek)

Shelters for Middle Caicos are:  

• Conch Bar Community Center
• Mt. Moriah Baptist Church
