DANGEROUS DRUGS AND AMMUNITION RECOVERED IN NORTH CAICOS HOME

On Tuesday June 18th, 2019, Detectives and Tactical Unit Officers of the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force executed a search warrant on a home on North Caicos. Recovered were illegal drugs, one round of ammunition and one imitation riffle. The said items were seized for investigational purposes.

A 45-year-old woman and a 26-year-old man were arrested following the search. The 45-year-old woman was arrested and charged for Possession of controlled drugs namely Cannabis, Possession of controlled drugs with intent to supply namely Cannabis, Possession of controlled drugs namely Amphetamine (Molly), Possession of Controlled drugs with intent to supply namely Amphetamine (Molly).

The 26-year-old man was arrested for unlawful possession of Ammunition, Possession of controlled drugs namely Cannabis, Possession of controlled drugs with intent to supply namely Cannabis, Possession of controlled drugs namely Amphetamine (Molly), Possession of Controlled drugs with intent to supply namely Amphetamine (Molly) and suspicion of discharging firearm in relation to the report made on Friday June 14th, 2014.

Both are still in Police Custody. This is still an active investigation.

ONE MAN TO FACE FIREARM CHARGES

On Tuesday June 18th, 2019, Detectives of the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force formally charged an 18-year-old man for Carrying Firearm and Ammunition. These charges followed the recovery of an illegal firearm and five rounds of ammunition during a routine stop and search of a Silver Teana Car by Officers of the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force Tactical Unit on Monday June 17th 2019.

The man will face those charges in court on Thursday, June 20th, 2019. He remain in police custody, while two men who also occupied the said vehicle and were arrested for Carrying Firearm and Ammunition, a 25-year-old and a 28-year-old were released on US$3000 bail each and are expected to return to Police on Thursday June 20th, 2019 for further questioning.
