TCI: Mosquito fogging ongoing
#Providenciales, May 31, 2019 – Turks and Caicos – The Environmental Health Department confirmed that residents of Providenciales have been calling about the understandable boom in the mosquito population. The EHD told Magnetic Media this morning the Department is being responsive despite the rain, which does delay fogging of mosquitos.
Already this morning, the airport, Chalk Sound and down town areas were all fogged for the pesky insects.
Pending the weather, it was explained that Five Cays, Phase I and Phase II housing developments will be fogged this evening.
As for the greener islands of North and Middle Caicos, where mosquitos are usually more rampant, fogging has been ongoing for two weeks, said an Environmental Health Department spokesperson.
It was also explained that a schedule will be disseminated on fogging exercises, however, these sporadic bursts of rain can impact whether or not fogging actually happens.
