Press Conference on Recent Plane Crash off New Providence

#Nassau, November 19, 2018 – Bahamas – Commander of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force (RBPF) Commodore Tellis Bethel, Acting Commissioner of the Royal Bahamas Police Force (RBPF) Emrick Seymour, and General Manager for Bahamas Air Navigation Service Keith Major joined other senior officers and stakeholders in presenting information on Search and Rescue / Recovery Efforts, at a press conference, held at the Paul Farquharson Centre, Police Headquarters, on November 16, 2018.

In particular, speakers presented a overview of the efforts in the recent plane crash with pilot Byron Ferguson, and the RBDF’s role in searching the nearly 300 square-mile search area, using a drone and diving at depths of over 200 feet.

Also in attendance were Acting Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of National Security Eugene Poitier, representatives of the Bahamas Air Sea Rescue Association, the United States Coast Guard and other government agencies.
