#Bahamas, December 4, 2017 – Grand Bahama – Jobs are coming for Bahamians, particularly those resident in Grand Bahama now that a progressive three year deal is struck between Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line and the Bahamas Government.   The Grand Celebration, which replaced the Bahamas Celebration will resume sailing from the Port of Palm Beach on December 24 and all new, and beginning in April is the Grand Classica which sets sail to Freeport in April.

The contract was inked at the Manor House of the Grand Lucayan resort right after Thanksgiving between Prime Minister Hubert Minnis and CEO of Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line Oneil Khosa.   Minister for Grand Bahama, Senator Kwasi Thompson said the contract calls for three conditions including that Bahamian businesses and products be used by the Celebration, that Bahamians be employed there and that with the second service in April, Bahamians be trained for job opportunities.  Get ready was advice from Thompson for Bahamians.

The prime minister said the contract signing is an indication of BPCL’s confidence and commitment to Grand Bahama.   “They are obviously showing great support in Grand Bahama, and in the economy going to the extent of launching another vessel in April – that shows great confidence in our Bahamas,” he said.

Cruises on board the Grand Celebration are from $149 from Palm Beach and the nine passenger deck cruise liner has a passenger capacity of 1900 people.
