Shooting Incident on Airport Road

Turks and Caicos, May 23, 2017 – ProvidencialesDetectives of the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force are investigating a shooting incident that occurred on Friday 19th May 2017 on the Airport Road, Providenciales.

Around 2:10am, Police responded to the Morris Plaza Parking Lot area after receiving multiple reports of shooting. Upon arrival, officers saw a male running towards the road, and while pointing to the area of the Plaza officers heard about three gun-shots from the parking lot.   The victim told officers that he was surrounded by three men who are known to him and he believes that they were going to kill him and as he ran for his life they fired shots at him.

A white Toyota Crown Victoria car was seen speeding out of the parking lot and officers gave chase.   The vehicle went into the Dock Yard area where the occupants fled.    The vehicle was searched, but nothing illegal was found.

No injuries were sustained during the shooting.   A male was arrested on suspicion of this incident and have since been released on bail.
