CDB Lecture on LIVE from Beaches Resort

Turks and Caicos, May 23, 2017 – Providenciales –  Tonight you can watch on live stream, while delegates for the 47th Annual Meeting of the Caribbean Development Bank will converge at Beaches Resort for a feature presentation; the William G. Demas Memorial Lecture.  This year, selected as the keynote speaker is Dr. Daniel Lederman, Lead Economist and Deputy Chief Economist for Latin America and the Caribbean at the World Bank, who will speak on the topic, “Thinking Big about Small Economies: From ‘Open and Nimble’ to Talented Workforce”.

Last night, there was the welcome cocktail reception at the Shore Club and today a plenary session at the Gus Lightbourne Gym.

Also at the gym, which has been marvelously transformed for the meeting, was our one on one interview with CDB President, Dr. William Smith who talked about regional integration and the role the CDB plays, how climate change is impacting our economies, about the CDBs support of the creative industries and how the bank and the Turks and Caicos Islands are working to shore up coastal areas and link this archipelago.

Although the 47th Meeting started with sessions since Sunday, the official opening is slated for tomorrow morning.  You can watch this much anticipated lecture tonight at 7:30pm.
