Turks and Caicos, March 31, 2017 – Providenciales – Eighteen things undone and he labels them ‘Broken Promises’ by the new PDM Administration.  In his press conference, PNP National Chairman and appointed member to the House of Assembly, Hon Royal Robinson, this morning demonstrated that he has poured over the 2016 PDM Change Document and the Throne Speech and there is where he told media that he found 18 things which the newly elected administration said it would do within its first 60-100 days in office, but has not done them.

The list begins:  no moratorium on home foreclosures, a promise made on page 22; No Economic Summit, a promise on page 31; no environmental culture archive from page 46; from pages 30 and 31, Robinson points out that Team TCI was not re-established for overseas marketing to new business interests as promised by the People’s Democratic Movement; a health care management review has still not happened, it was promised for within 60 days of taking office.   No aggressive government building repair program or four year road development plan; both were promised in the throne speech said the appointed PNP.

There was failure to hold that first structured meeting with the civil service, to update the National Tourism Strategic plan and to present it to the public and failure to bring a stimulus plan to boost job growth.  There was no job creation ministerial portfolio established; no reform to the national scholarship policy; no national unemployment drive; no review of civil service salaries in order to reinstate gratuities and the hospitals contract remains un-reviewed according to Royal Robinson’s list.

The PDM has said nothing publicly as the 100 day goal post passed, but Premier Sharlene Robinson informed that next week Tuesday, her administration holds a press conference – very likely to address these and other topical issues.
