Nassau, Bahamas, February 13, 2017 – Funky smells around the cruise center, ground transportation chaos and an unwelcoming Welcome Center is what one media report says are some reasons the Florida Caribbean Cruise Association or FCCA is citing as problems with famous Nassau, Harbour.

Our dock is losing its luster and losing its cruise dockings and the FCCA explained that despite requests to fix these issues, the Bahamian Government is slow or seemingly slow to respond.  Norwegian Cruise Lines last week revealed changes which opt for Havana, Cuba over Nassau and Freeport and it is said there are other cruise lines considering the same.

Minister of Tourism, Obie Wilchcombe said there is work being done to enhance the down town experience including fixing the taxi system and renovations to Festival Place are said to be nearly done.  There is increased concern about what losses The Bahamas could suffer now that Cuba is reopened but Minister Wilchcombe is quoted as banking on the fact that we can berth bigger boats so The Bahamas remains with an edge and that improvements are imminent.
