Providenciales, TCI, January 13, 2017 –  Deputy Governor Anya Williams is the Turks and Caicos Weekly News Person of the year.   The article which features the Grand Turk native as scholar, an icon and a diplomat praises her for juggling a demanding job which gives her responsibility for some 1,700 civil servants and her personal life as a wife and mother of three with, and I quote, “dignity, distinction and integrity”.

DG Anya Williams at the age of 36, holds the top position of any woman in the TCI and this year marks her 14th year in TCIG.   Part her of childhood was spent in Canada, her parents are Dennis and Deborah Swann and among her educational accolades is a Masters Degree from Florida International University in Accounting, and Associate’s Degree in Law, English and Accounting; the Deputy Governor completed her time at university in the top 10% with a 3.9GPA.

Hon Anya Williams called the accolade by the TC Weekly News an honor and privilege.
