Digicel Ready for Matthew

Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands, October 3, 2016 –  As Hurricane Matthew heads closer to the Turks and Caicos,Digicel has put its hurricane contingency plan into high gear and has ensured that everything is in place to best manage the effects of the bad weather system.

Specifically, Digicel has ensured that all of its 32 cell sites across the country are in good order and ready to keep TCI connected.  Digicel has also made available into the market a significant amount of prepaid scratch top up vouchers to ensure that customers can stay in touch.
 
At the same time, Digicel’s Crisis Management Teamis now in place to play an essential role in ensuring optimal network readiness and delivery, and to monitor and track the hurricane as it gathers strength over the Caribbean Sea.
 
In urging residents to do all they can to prepare for the storm and to stay safe, Digicel’s CEO, Sinead O Marcaighcomments;  “Our primary concern is the safety of our customers and staff, while keepingeveryone connected to friends and family throughout the storm. Please be reminded to stay safe, stock up on basic items, keep your phones charged and topped up and to know your nearest evacuation zone.”
 
She added;  “Likewise, we have mobilized our technical teams and field engineers across the TCI to safeguard the network.”
