Ahead of the 61st CARPHA Health Research Conference opening ceremony tonight, TCIG led by Premier Rufus Ewing and Governor Peter Beckingham signed an important commitment. It puts the Turks and Caicos back in official alignment with CARPHA.
Executive Director of the Caribbean Public Health Agency, Dr. James Hospedales is here for the conference and for the signing.
The Premier explained what this formal re-connection means for these islands.
“thus recommitted and we signed a new agreement as our relationship with CARPHA which is a new entity in itself a body corporate. And so it’s signicicant because when you start to do more collaborative work together like the TCI Care program with different MOU’s, then you need to make sure that all your i’s are dotted and all your t’s are crossed with regards to your relationship, and so that was done here today.”
