Four winners in DEMA and National Trust colouring contest
Amy Avenant, DEMA’s Environment Outreach Coordinator said there were many impressive entries. In the end the winners announced are: Janear Forbes of BEST Institute; Trisha Duncan of Ianthe Pratt; Richmond Hill Preparatory’s, Daquant Duncanson and Brooke Rivers of the International School of the Turks & Caicos Islands.
In a bitter sweet report, DEMA also said the work of four schools, namely Provo Primary, Oseta Jolly Primary, BEST Institute and the ISTCI, in planting 50 red mangrove seedlings at the Wheeland Pond was sullied by culprits who actually went in and stole the plants.
Those thieves, who pulled up the seedlings are still at large so if you have any information, please contact Police.
