Kuan Yew remembered in Turks and Caicos Parliament

Providenciales, 23 Mar 2015 – Condolences are pouring in with the death of revolutionary former leader of Singapore, Lee Kuan Yew. Called a founding father of a country he is credited with transforming into one of the world’s most impressive states – Singapore. News of Kuan Yew’s passing has elicited condolences from across the globe. In the Turks and Caicos Islands, several members of the House of Assembly acknowledged his astounding achievements including Finance Minister Hon. Washington Misick and Governor Appointed Member, Hon. John Philips. Among other things, “Mr. Lee oversaw Singapore’s independence from Britain and separation from Malaysia. His death was announced early on Monday. He had been in hospital for several weeks with pneumonia and was on life support.” A state funeral was announced for Lee Kuan Yew for March 29th; he was 91 years old.
