Invest TCI Brings Entrepreneurs and Bankers to the Table

Turks and Caicos, September 11, 2026 – Local entrepreneurs got a closer look at what banks consider before saying yes — or no — to financing during a recent business session organised by Invest Turks and Caicos Islands.

Partnering with the Turks and Caicos Bankers Association, Invest TCI brought entrepreneurs directly into conversation with banking professionals to better understand how financial institutions assess businesses and make lending decisions.

Discussions covered financial preparedness, proper record keeping, business planning and access to financing, along with the importance of approaching growth with what organisers described as a “CEO mindset.”

Director of Business Support & Development Dawn Higgs moderated the interactive session, allowing entrepreneurs to raise questions and hear directly from representatives of the banking sector.

The initiative addresses an important part of business development: entrepreneurs may know they need capital, but understanding what makes a business attractive — and less risky — to a lender can improve their chances of securing it.

Invest TCI says its support extends beyond grants and incentives to advisory services, training, technical assistance and guidance for businesses from start-up through expansion.
