Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands – August 4, 2025 – The Turks and Caicos Islands is in mourning following the tragic killing of Police Constable Kenneth Parker, a 54-year-old veteran officer who dedicated over 34 years of service to the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force (RT&CIPF). Constable Parker was found with fatal stab wounds in a vehicle near Millennium Highway, Providenciales, just after midnight on Saturday, August 3.

Police have confirmed that a male suspect was taken into custody shortly after the discovery, and a weapon believed to have been used in the attack has been recovered. Sources indicate the incident occurred near an apartment complex in Blue Hills. This marks the 24th homicide for the year in the TCI.

Constable Parker was most recently serving as Boat Captain in the RT&CIPF Marine Branch and was previously assigned to both the South Caicos Police Station and the Beat and Patrol Unit. His service began in November 1990, and colleagues remembered him as a mentor, father figure, and dedicated officer who played a vital role in keeping TCI’s waters and communities safe.

“This is a difficult moment for the Force as we mourn not only a colleague but also a friend, father figure, mentor, and leader,” read the official statement from the Police Force, which also called for privacy and prayers for the Parker family during their time of grief.

Premier & Governor Issue Condolences

Premier Hon. Charles Washington Misick issued a heartfelt public statement, describing Parker’s death as a “senseless and tragic loss.”

“Constable Parker was a mentor and leader among younger members of the Police Force—a true embodiment of duty and dedication. His passing is now the subject of a murder investigation, and we trust that justice will be served,” said Premier Misick.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    He further called for national reflection and unity, urging churches across the islands to lift the country in prayer and households to pause for the Parker family and the Police Force.                                                                                                                                                                                                               “This heinous act once again highlights the growing cancer of crime that continues to plague our communities. It is a scourge that must be cut out,” the Premier stated.

Her Excellency the Governor also released a statement, extending sympathy to Constable Parker’s family and commending his dedicated service. She asked that the public “allow dignity to guide discourse on social media” and remember the officer as someone who served his country with honor.

National Grief, Renewed Resolve

Constable Kenneth Parker’s death has pierced the national psyche, prompting an outpouring of sorrow—and a renewed call for justice and public cooperation. The investigation remains active, and the RT&CIPF assures the public that every effort is being made to swiftly bring closure to this case.
