South Caicos Heritage Foundation Donates $40,000 in School Furniture and Laptops to Local Schools

Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands — Wednesday, 20 August 2025:  The South Caicos Heritage Foundation has made a generous donation of school furniture and technology valued at $40,000 to Iris Stubbs Primary School and Marjorie Basden High School, underscoring its strong commitment to education and youth development on the island.

The contribution includes desks, air conditioning units, projectors, bulletin boards, national flags, lunch tables, and laptops, all aimed at creating safer, more comfortable, and technology-ready learning environments for students and teachers.                                                                                                                                                                                                                      “This is a significant step toward improving the learning environment for our children,” said Stacey-Ann Albert, Director of Human Resources, Culture, and Community Affairs at Sailrock South Caicos. “We believe that access to proper educational tools and comfortable, safe learning spaces can make a world of difference. Our youth deserve every opportunity to thrive, and we are proud to play a part in helping to shape a brighter future for them.”                                                                                                                  Administrators and staff at the recipient schools have expressed their deep appreciation for the donation, noting that the improvements will directly enhance both teaching and learning experiences.

Expressing gratitude on behalf of the government, Hon. Rachel Marshall Taylor, Minister of Education, Youth, Sports and Culture, stated: “We are deeply grateful to the South Caicos Heritage Foundation for this generous and timely contribution. Partnerships such as these are vital to our collective mission of providing every child with access to quality education in a safe and supportive environment. By working hand in hand with community organisations, we are ensuring that our schools are better equipped to inspire, empower, and prepare the next generation of leaders in the Turks and Caicos Islands.”
