Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands, 14th August 2025 — The Informal Settlements Unit (ISU) advises that a reclamation exercise is currently underway on the privately owned Block and Parcel 606602/483 and 484, following a formal request made by the landowner for assistance in the removal of unauthorized structures erected on the property.
The private owner hired a private contractor to clear the parcels and enlisted the assistance of the Physical Planning Department, the Crown Land Unit, the Informal Settlements Unit, the Turks and Caicos Islands Border Force, and the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force, who will be providing security throughout the exercise.
Enforcement Notices were issued to occupants of the unauthorized structures in April 2024, followed by Warning Letters one year later, in April 2025. These actions were taken in accordance with established legal protocols and provided ample opportunity for affected persons to vacate the property voluntarily.
The ISU recognizes the sensitivities surrounding exercises of this nature and assures the public that all entities involved are acting in accordance with the law, with a view to ensuring the peaceful and safe execution of the landowner’s request.
