Turks and Caicos, August 1, 2025 – An official investigation is now underway into the July 29 crash of a Cessna 210 (tail number N1110S) near Providenciales in the Turks and Caicos Islands. Authorities from the Turks and Caicos National Security Council and Civil Aviation Authority, in coordination with the NTSB and FAA, are leading a comprehensive probe into what caused the aircraft to go down during its final approach to Howard Hamilton International Airport.
As of today, the only confirmed update is that the identity of the deceased co‑pilot remains undisclosed. While public reporting from Guyana and overseas outlets identifies one occupant—Captain Dwight Bonus of the Guyana Defence Force—as surviving, the other individual aboard, who died on impact, has not been named by authorities.
Captain Bonus was off duty on personal vacation leave when the aircraft departed North Perry Airport in Florida at approximately 11:40 a.m. Eastern on July 29, bound for Providenciales. He suffered critical injuries and has since been medically evacuated overseas; his condition is now reported as stable by the GDF.
Emergency response was immediate: TCIAA deployed airside fire/rescue teams and a rescue boat supported by Las Brisas. The airport closed at 3:14 p.m. local time and reopened by 5:19 p.m. after coordinating recovery and safety operations.
FAA records show the plane is registered to Mob Aviation USA LLC, based in Kissimmee, Florida.
