Providenciales, Turks & Caicos Islands 26 August 2025 — On Monday, 25th August 2025, at approximately 6:30 p.m., the Environmental Health Department (EHD) was alerted to a fire at the Kew dumpsite in North Caicos. Officers responded promptly, assessed the situation, and immediately notified the relevant agencies. EHD is actively monitoring the site and coordinating efforts to contain the blaze.
The health and safety of the community remain our top priority. We are advising residents to avoid the area surrounding the dumpsite until further notice. Individuals living nearby are also urged to keep doors and windows closed to reduce potential exposure to smoke while containment measures continue.
