Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands, 27th July 2025– Her Excellency Acting Governor Anya Williams and the Hon. Premier Charles Washington Misick, co-chaired a special meeting of the Turks and Caicos Islands (TCI) National Security Council (NSC) on Sunday 27, 2025 at the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force Headquarters, Airport Road, Providenciales. In attendance, the Hon. Deputy Premier and the Commissioner of Police with apologies from the Hon. Attorney General and Hon. Min. of Physical Planning and Infrastructure Development.
Also in attendance, the National Security Advisor, the Permanent Secretary for National Security, the NSS Threat Lead and RTCIPF representatives: Deputy Commissioner of Police Adams, Assistant Commissioner of Police Williams, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Ag.) Gardiner, Superintendent (Ag.) Williams and Inspector (Ag) Payen.

By the RTCIPF on the facts of the fatal mass shooting incident that occurred at a popular lounge on Leeward Highway on Saturday 27 July 2025 at approximately 3:00am. The incident resulted in the death of 3 individuals with 10 others receiving gunshot wounds. RTCIPF Investigators has been processing the scene and gathering evidence, supported by the Drone and Intelligence Units.
By the Governor (Ag.) on the hospital’s surge capacity management and the status of those injured, advising that of the 10 persons who sustained gunshot wounds: 2 were released with non-life-threatening injuries, 2 are being airlifted for overseas care, 2 who received multiple injuries are in stable condition and are being closely monitored, and 4 are receiving hospital care.
By the Commissioner of Police on the immediate actions of the Force to this critical incident, which includes an uplift of police presence throughout high-risk communities and targeted operations on identified key suspects and the communities that are harbouring known criminals. The RTCIPF will engage the TCI Regiment as well as regional support to build operational capacity.
A press briefing was held at 11:30am to appraise the public of the current situation and reassure citizens and residents of the strong positions taken in response to the incident. An appeal is being made for members of the public to provide information to the RTCIPF (911) and to Crime Stoppers (1-800-8477). A reward of $10,000 has been announced for credible information that can assist the police with the investigation.
The public is also advised that the Cheshire Hall Medical Centre, Providenciales is on lock-down protocol, with limited visitor access. Emergency operations are open.
The members of the National Security Council expressed their sincere condolences to the families who have lost loved ones and offers its prayers for full recovery to those receiving medical care.
