Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands – A violent and tragic weekend in the Turks and Caicos has now been confirmed to include a double murder, adding to the list of alarming gun-related incidents in the Blue Hills community.

On Tuesday, July 22, law enforcement officials recovered the bodies of two men—reportedly brothers—from a home deep within the Snake Hill area, off Miracle Close and Mary Jane Lane, opposite the African Shop.  Graphic footage shared with Eagle Legal News Media and from the scene show the deceased being lifted from the premises in body bags, a chilling confirmation of what residents feared after reports of heavy gunfire the previous night.

The area, already tense after a July 20 shootout, remains under close police watch.  That day, officers—including those recently deployed from Jamaica—came under fire during a tactical operation in the same location.  They returned fire but were forced to retreat due to continuous shooting from bush cover.  No officers were injured.

Amid this violent flare-up, two convicted shooters were handed 12-year prison sentences on Monday, July 21, in Grand Turk.

  • Shaquaze Forbes, 22, was sentenced for a Grand Turk shooting incident.
  • Cydereo Smith, 26, was convicted for a 2023 gun attack at the Regent Grand underground parking lot in Grace Bay.

The series of back-to-back incidents has left Blue Hills shaken and police now stretched as they work to maintain calm. The confirmed homicides underscore the brazen nature of gun violence plaguing parts of the country—even putting officers at risk in their attempts to restore order.

Investigations into all incidents are ongoing.
