Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands – Wednesday, 23 July 2025: The Administration Committee is one of the Standing Committees of the Parliament established pursuant to section 64 of the Turks and Caicos Islands Constitution, Order 2011 and mandated with the responsibility for monitoring the conduct of the business of Government which responsibility has been assigned to a Minister or Ministers under section 36 (1).
Section 119 of the Standing Orders further provides:
(1) An Administration Committee, constituted under section 64 of the Constitution charged with responsibility for monitoring the conduct of the business of Government, except in the matter referred to the Expenditure Committee.
(2) This Committee shall report on the implementation, administration and development of policies of Government in every Ministry.
(3) The Leader of the Opposition or his or her nominee shall be Chairperson of this Committee.
The Committee held its first meeting of the first session 2025/2026 on Wednesday, 16th – Friday, 18th July 2025 in the West Committee Room of the Parliament, Hon. N.J. S. Francis Building, Pond Street, Grand Turk.
At this meeting the Committee focus its attention on Policy matters relating to the Ministry of Home Affairs, Religious Affairs and Transportation, District Administrations (North Caicos, Middle Caicos, South Caicos and Salt Cay,) Department of Motor Vehicles, Registrar General, Department of Community Support and Engagement, Gender Affairs, Citizenship and Naturalization and Department of Family and Children Services.
The Committee also conducted a site visit to the Department of Citizenship and Naturalization to gain knowledge of its daily organizational operations.
A detailed report including findings and recommendations will be submitted to the Parliament during the First (1st) Sitting of the Ninth (9th) Meeting.
