Jamaican Murder Suspect Captured in Turks and Caicos After Illegal Entry

Providenciales, TCI — May 12, 2025 – A Jamaican man wanted in his home country for a serious crime has been apprehended in the Turks and Caicos Islands after entering the territory illegally.

According to the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force (RT&CIPF), 31-year-old Alex Anthony McDonald, a Jamaican national, was spotted on Saturday, May 10, at Sapodilla Beach in the Chalk Sound area of Providenciales.

Acting swiftly on the tip, officers from the Tactical Unit moved in and arrested McDonald. Authorities later confirmed that he had illegally entered the TCI, and he has since been charged by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) with Unlawful Entry.

Further intelligence gathered by local detectives revealed that McDonald is wanted by the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) in connection with an ongoing murder investigation.

Investigations remain ongoing, and the RT&CIPF has confirmed that it is working closely with regional law enforcement partners and Interpol to determine McDonald’s full criminal background and any potential links to crimes within the TCI.

The police are urging the public to report any information related to illegal activity.
