Multi-million dollar investment in fixed and mobile network expansion
Providenciales, Turks & Caicos Islands – Tuesday, April 29, 2025. Digicel customers in the Turks & Caicos Islands are set to benefit from an enhanced communications experience thanks to a multi-million-dollar investment in both the mobile and fixed networks.
With the mobile network expansion set to be completed in July, the investment in network capacity means Digicel mobile customers in Providenciales can look forward to an improved service experience with faster speeds and more reliable connections translating to a smoother online experience and better support for data-intensive activities like streaming and gaming. Additionally, the higher capacity will improve network efficiency and reduce congestion during peak usage times.
While on the fixed line side, Digicel’s network expansion programme sees it deploying a high-capacity long haul link from Providenciales to Grand Turk with customers enjoying a seamless connectivity experience with increased bandwidth, enhanced reliability and broader coverage. This work is set to be complete in this calendar year.
Commenting on the multi-million-dollar network investment, Meredith Sharples, Regional Chief Executive Officer, explains; “In the understanding that connectivity provides the bridge to economic opportunity, we’re all about connecting and empowering our customers. These network enhancements will provide an elevated service experience, faster speeds and improved coverage to our customers as part of our broader commitment to the people of the Turks & Caicos Islands.”
