NASSAU, BAHAMAS, 5 May 2025 – The Government of Canada is pleased to announce that biometric collection services will be offered at the Consulate of Canada in Nassau, Bahamas, from May 22 to 24, 2025 (inclusive).
As part of the visa application process, nationals of The Bahamas are required to provide biometric information—that is, fingerprints and a photograph—when applying for a Canadian visitor visa, study or work permit, temporary residence permit, or permanent residence visa. Nationals of other countries residing in The Bahamas may also be required to enroll biometrics for visitor, business and transit visas (temporary resident visas).
This opportunity is open to individuals who have already submitted a visa, study permit, work permit, or permanent residence application (online or by mail) and have received a Biometric Instruction Letter (BIL).
Important: Biometric data will only be collected from individuals who have booked an appointment in advance and present both their Biometric Instruction Letter and valid passport at the time of their appointment. Officials will not be accepting new visa applications or collecting biometrics from individuals without a Biometric Instruction Letter.
To schedule an appointment, please email info@cdnbahamas.com. The deadline to book appointments is May 15, 2025 and appointments will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Due to limited availability, no additional appointments can be granted after the cut-off date unless cancellations are received.
Biometric Collection Schedule:
- Thursday, May 22: 09:00 – 16:00
- Friday, May 23: 09:00 – 16:00
- Saturday, May 24: 09:00 – 16:00
- Location: Shirley Street Plaza, Nassau, Bahamas
We encourage interested applicants to submit their visa and study/work permit applications online as soon as possible to ensure they receive their Biometric Instruction Letter in time to participate in this local collection opportunity.
