Turks and Caicos, March 15, 2025 – On Sunday March 9, Eagle Legal News, was busy making inquiries in relation to photos, videos, and information shared with our news team of a reportedly successful illegal landing somewhere on Long Bay Beach, Providenciales.
What we’ve gathered so far but (nothing confirmed) is that the boat shown and shared in the photo was there from around 3pm yesterday afternoon.
Only last night and this morning, information of this landing reached the authorities, and they acted accordingly but were unsuccessful in capturing anyone up to last night but may have captured about four individuals, we were told.
Challenges persist when it comes to the selective nature of how information is disseminated to the general public. From our perspective, it is always surprising how officials are quick to only report the successful interceptions, but nothing is ever said when there is clear evidence of illegals making landfalls undetected.
We have a reasonable expectation that Officials would not only share information on the interceptions, but also on the irregular migrants who actually make landfall and pose a potential threat to unsuspecting islanders.
