FROM THE OFFICE OF THE DEPUTY GOVERNOR AND HEAD OF THE PUBLIC SERVICE
Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands, 5th March 2025 – The Office of the Deputy Governor is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Saintilien Davene as a Development Control Officer in the Department of Planning and Physical Development within the Ministry of Physical Planning and Infrastructure Development.
Mr. Davene’s background includes attending Helena Robinson High School from 2004 to 2009, where he laid the foundation for his future academic and professional pursuits. He further honed his skills at the Turks and Caicos Islands Community College, earning an Associate’s Degree in Building Design and Technology from 2012 to 2016. Following that, Mr. Davene worked at Her Majesty Prison from 2012 to 2024, where he was promoted to Senior Officer in 2023.
Mr. Davene remarked on his new role, saying, “I am gratified to be appointed in my new role as a Development Control Officer within the Physical Planning Department. It was a role that I applied for several years back but never got through. However, a wise man once said, ‘Delay is not Denial.’ With that said, I thank God for this opportunity. As it is written in Matthew 6:33, ‘But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.’ This message drives me forward and inspires me to ensure that our development initiatives benefit the community.”
Meanwhile, H. E. Anya Williams, Deputy Governor and Head of the Public Service, stated, “I am delighted to congratulate Mr. Davene on his appointment to the Department of Physical Planning, a role that perfectly aligns with his academic background. I would also like to express my gratitude for his exemplary service as a former Prison Officer. I wish him great success in this new position, where he will play a crucial role in strengthening our capacity for Planning and Development.
Once again, Mr. Davene, congratulations on your well-deserved role.”
