Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands 6th February 2025 The Annual National Primary School Spelling Bee, sponsored by F Chambers/Island Printing and Beaches Turks & Caicos, continues to be a highly anticipated event that showcases the phonemic awareness of primary students from both private and public schools. The 2025 event will feature 12 vibrant spellers from grades 4 to 6 across the country, all vying for the coveted title of Champion Speller.

As the host of this exciting event, the Ministry/Department of Education is delighted to present the best spellers from across the nation, who have eagerly prepared to represent their individual schools. The Spelling Bee aims to promote educational excellence and enrich intellectualism through competition, while also fostering a reading culture among young minds. This initiative creates a platform that makes education both attractive and an exciting adventure.

The official source of all words used in the Spelling Bee is the Oxford Dictionary.

The event will be overseen by a team of officials, including at least two Spelling Pronouncers, three Judges, two Scorers, and a Timekeeper.

We are immensely grateful to Beaches Resort & Spa, Turks & Caicos, for generously agreeing to host the event on Thursday, 27th February,2025, in the Key West Conference Room at Beaches Turks & Caicos, commencing at 9:00 AM.

As is customary, the event will be aired live, courtesy of Radio Turks & Caicos and FLOW, allowing those who are unable to attend to listen in.

The prizes for the event include: 

Grand Prize: Apple MacBook Laptop and a printer

Runner Up Prize: Apple iPad Mini

Third Place: Apple iPad Mini

Top 7 of final 10: Asus Memo Tablet

Champion Coach: 17” Laptop

Remaining Participants: $50 gift certificates

Complimentary Trophies for all participants

The general public are invited to tune to Radio Turks & Caicos on Thursday, 27th February, 2025, for live coverage of the National Primary Schools Spelling Bee.
