PRESS RELEASE
FROM THE OFFICE OF THE PREMIER AND PUBLIC POLICY
Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands 20th February 2025 – The public is encouraged to collect outstanding Senior Citizen’s FAP cheques available at the Government treasuries and sub-treasuries. Whereas, islands outside of Providenciales have reported regular distribution, a considerable amount of cheques remains in the Providenciales sub-treasury for collection.
Senior citizens approved for the FAP should have already collected payments for April 2024 to January 2025, and the majority of cheques for previously approved pensioners have been distributed for February 2025.
Cheques are expected to be paid by the first Friday of each month unless otherwise notified.
The FAP is intended to assist senior citizens with covering the costs of basic day-to-day necessities every month. Multiple cheques, left uncollected, may be subjected to enhanced due diligence – an extra investigation conducted into the reasons for non-collection that may result in the cessation of the benefits.
Persons with uncollected cheques and who are unable to appear at the treasuries can allow a relative to collect the cheques by providing a letter of authorization, signed by the approved pensioner and duly notarized by a Justice of the Peace resident in the Turks and Caicos Islands.
All FAP payments are currently distributed by cheque only. An intervention allowing for direct payments to a bank account will not be available until the new Financial Year.
Uncollected cheques, if expired, will not be reprinted.
Please appear for collection of cheques with a valid identification and the reference number of the approved applicant.
