Turks and Caicos, February 24, 2025 – A 46-year-old Haitian man was reportedly shot in the head; TCI Police on Saturday found the man in a vehicle lodged in bushes, he was described and bleeding and initially thought to be dead. In an update on Monday February 24, police informed “Given the severity of the injuries sustained, the victim was flown out today for further medical treatment.”
The medical evacuation of the patient from the Cheshire Hall Medical Centre resulted in the security threat level being reduced for the hospital facility. Some services, including visitation had been suspended when the apparent gunshot wound patient was checked into the hospital.
Services at the CHMC resumed, as usual, on Monday morning.
In the police report, the public learned “At approximately 3:00 pm on February 22, the Police Control Room received multiple calls for assistance. Officers and medical personnel were dispatched to the scene.”
Police have not reported any arrests in the case. They are however, asking for any information, including a possible motive for the near fatal attack to be reported.
“The circumstances surrounding this incident remain unclear, and we are asking anyone with information to contact the closest police station, 911, the Serious Crime Unit at 231-1842, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-8477 to provide information anonymously.”
Police also encourage residents to download their Crime Stoppers P3 app to share, which is another way to share information.
