Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands, Monday 6th January 2025 – The Turks and Caicos Islands Government is pleased to announce that it has made significant progress in the restoration of its service network, following the recent cyber attack.
As of today, we are pleased to report the successful restoration of the Smart Stream payment system, the government’s primary platform for processing payments. This system is now fully operational and available for use by all ministries and departments for the processing of payments.
While Smart Stream has been restored, work continues on the government’s revenue systems, including the tax and fee payment portal. In the meantime, TCIG will continue to operate the manual receipt system at its Treasuries, while alternative systems are being tested as potential interim solutions to ensure minimal disruption to essential services.
The TCIG continues to collaborate with technical experts from the Turks and Caicos Islands, United Kingdom and the region to address and resolve all remaining concerns.
An expert technical team is on island this week to assist with the investigation, recovery and building resilience efforts.
We remain committed to ensuring the security and reliability of all government systems.
We thank the public for their continued understanding and patience and our internal and external support teams for their work in helping to restore full functionality.
Additional updates will be provided as further progress is made.
